Hello, everyone! It’s Penny here!
I’m really excited about today’s topic! I have done a lot of research on it, and I think this is one of my favorite aspects of calculating a natal chart.
So, what exactly is an oriental planet?
If you are somewhat familiar with astrology, you might have heard that the Sun is our identity, while our ascendant sign symbolizes how people perceive us.
While these are extremely important while getting to know yourself and your chart, there is another planet which was born before your Sun in your natal chart. And that is called your oriental or your guiding planet, which emphasizes your innate skills since it was born right before your Sun( your core identity) was formed. Since the Sun is our character, our oriental planet represents our capabilities, our inherent skills, and abilities.
This can also give you an idea of your career path. Though astrologers usually use the MC point and other aspects for an accurate analysis of profession, your oriental planet/guiding planet can also give you a hint about your purpose.
In a sense, it can be said that your oriental planet is what people see before you. For example, mine is Mercury. Mercury is associated with writing, publishing, the mind, logic, languages. Whenever someone asks, ”What do you enjoy doing?” or ”What do you do in your leisure time?” I immediately reply ”Writing and learning new things.” I started writing song lyrics when I was 10, and now I’m writing my first collection of short stories and blog posts for my blog!
Another intriguing fact is that ladies, your oriental planet can provide you with information about your future significant other. If you want to learn about it, simply read the traits of your guiding planet!
Now, let’s talk about which planet might mean what and how you can calculate your oriental planet!
First, go to astro.com and create your natal chart.
You need to enter your birth details and your birth time has to be exact.
